Now....show us how it works in actual data transfer times...)
And more importantly, just how often will you be doing these operations that you want such high performance at such high cost? Do you do it once a day and you're expecting to save hours of time? Why would you be doing game file integrity scans so often that saving time on them is such a big deal? Why transferring game files so often, and where are you transferring them that having such high bandwidth on only one "drive" would be useful? Moving them from folder to folder, or between partitions?

DirectStorage won't work with the RAID array, by the way, so you'll be losing the benefits of that in the few games that support it or really need it. And loading save games is unlikely to be any different, since the actual save files are small and the rest is just the normal data loading, which has already been tested and shown to not really greatly exceed the throughput that a single SATA SSD can handle. Also make sure that TRIM is still enabled and functioning on the array, which only works with RAID0.

What actual configuration did you end up with? Did the board allow you to do a 4-drive array even though Intel's RST doesn't support it? You seem to be getting more than the speeds possible with only two Gen4x4 drives, but WAY below what should be possible with 4 drives or even 3 drives, especially the model you selected (which would seem to bear out the assertion that the rest of the system and the OS itself simply can't do anything with even the theoretical bandwidth available even in a benchmark, let alone a real application).

Yes unfortunately the experiment is over. The system has become unstable causing every since game to crash. I will be deleting the raid array and starting over. In most tests that I was able to run, the raid 0 wasn't any better than my old z540 except synthetics. Its was cool while it lasted and I appreciated all the warnings. Raid 0 remains undefeated! Cheers!
