I was just wondering. How much safer is it to use an on-screen keyboard provided by reputable Antivirus programs for inputting passwords? I imagine for starters it would prevent potential keyloggers from tracking your keys. I did some reading online and couldn't really find anything sufficient.

Is it slightly better? Better then nothing? Or makes zero difference at all.

Thank you.

Better in one situation, not in another. This is typical of something that is supposed to circumvent malware that is already on your machine. For one type of malware, it works, but for others, it does not. But you have to respond the same way regardless, pretty much assume a total loss, hoping that some of the circumventions may have worked. So a better solution is to not get malware on your machine (which may be impossible, with supply-chain attacks and all).

Let me mention one thing I hate about on-screen keyboards, though. They discourage long passwords. I can type 10 words in less than 30 seconds (OK, not fast), but on an on-screen keyboard, I would be 😭.
