So is there a single app that is good for controlling both fan speed and RGB lights?
My computer came with HYTE Nexus and MSI Center preinstalled and I found that Nexus works good for the fans and MSI Center works good for making sure the RGB lights can be turned off, but it sucks having two programs to control each.

I did find with Nexus I'd have some control over the RGB but since I just want it off all the time, MSI seems to be the best option as whenever the computer restarts (updates) or if I turn it off for the night and back on manually, the RAM sticks light up again and I still can't find a way to turn them off unless I use MSI Center.

Between the two I'd rather have Nexus to keep the fans quieter but if there is a better app for controlling both I'd love to know about it.

Hmmm.... One software to rule them all? 🤔

OpenRGB, link: https://openrgb.org/
with Fan Sync plugin, link: https://openrgb.org/plugins.html

Is it good? I don't know. I don't use it.

Instead, i have;
NZXT CAM - to control my NZXT LED strips and AER140 RGB fans
Corsair iCUE - to control my Corsair peripherals (KB, mice, headset, mouse pad, headset stand)
Thermaltake Commander F6 RGB - 5.25" external bay fan controller for manual and individual fan control

I use SignalRGB; I have a 1 year Pro subscription. You have to have the Pro version to control fans but they have a free trial:

"How does the SignalRGB Pro trial work?"

"If you've never had Pro before, you may be eligible for a free trial. For trials, you'll still need to enter a valid payment method to sign up. We'll use this to confirm your country or region and take payments if you want to keep Pro after the trial ends. We will send you an email reminder before your trial ends. Terms and conditions apply."

I prefer SignalRGB because they have multiple themes and most of them have a speed slider so you can slow the effects down or speed them up. I prefer the Color Cycle theme with the slowest setting of 1 so that all my leds cycle through the colors at a leisurely pace. It supports my Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO RGB case, my Arctic Freezer III Pro 360, 7 Lian Li SL INF fans and the 3 sections of leds on the ASUS ROG Strix-E motherboard.
